Want to be inspired?? πŸ™Œ

Let me tell you about a member who is absolutely crushing it!! At 52 years old, Amy Smith just made a goal happen that she’s been chasing for years. Grab a coffee, because this one is good.

Amy has had the same goal for as long as I can remember. Every time we sat down for a goal review, I’d ask what she wanted to work toward, and her answer was always the same: “I really want to be able to do a pull-up.”

Amy has been with us since our breatheYoga days. She was one of our first yoga members to jump into strength training, and if you know Amy, you know the smile. She lights up a room and brings the BEST energy wherever she goes. She’s also incredibly goal-oriented and loves having a plan.

So after hearing “I want to do a pull-up” at several goal reviews, I finally told her, “Amy, if you really want to get that pull-up, we need to specifically train you to do a pull-up.”

She trusted me and scheduled one private session with John. They looked at where she was and what she needed to work on, and John gave her a plan designed around HER goal. Then Amy did the most important part: she followed the plan.

Fast forward to today. With a whole group of people gathered around cheering her on, Amy got on that bar and did her pull-up. Except she didn’t do ONE.

SHE DID THREE. IN. A. ROW. πŸŽ‰πŸ’ͺ

The gym erupted! (yes, we got it on video. Finish reading and watch it at the bottomπŸ˜‰)

I couldn’t stop thinking about what a great reminder this is. General goals need good, consistent training, and that’s exactly what our Small Group Strength classes are designed to provide. But sometimes you have a very specific goal. Maybe you want to do a pull-up. Maybe you want to get on and off the floor more easily, hike a mountain, run your first race, carry your own suitcase, improve your squat, or feel stronger doing something you haven’t been able to do in years.

Specific goals deserve specific plans. And everybody does better with a coach.

So here’s my question for you: What’s YOUR pull-up? What’s that thing you’ve been saying you want to do, but haven’t quite figured out how to get there?

If you’re already a MOVE+breathe member, talk to your CSM. Let’s figure out what your next goal is and whether you need a more specific plan to get there.

And if you’re not training with us yet, we’d love to sit down with you, hear what YOU want to be able to do, and help you create a plan to get there.

Way to go, Amy. THREE!!! ❀️πŸ’ͺ
