Let’s just say it out loud: if you’re an active person, you are going to get an injury at some point.
I’m not saying that to scare you. I’m saying it because pretending otherwise sets people up to feel like something has gone wrong when really, something completely normal has happened. John has dealt with it. I’ve dealt with it. Our coaches deal with it. Injuries are part of the deal when you actually use your body.
So the real question is never whether it happens. It’s what you do when it does.
I’ve watched members make two very different choices. And the outcomes are night and day.
Here are some real life M+b examples…Michael had a bicep tendon tear. He kept showing up. He worked his legs, his other arm. He modified, he adapted, and today he’s back doing everything he was doing before. Mark, Julie, and Phil all had foot injuries. Boots and everything. They came in anyway. They let the coaches help them navigate around it, they kept working the parts of their bodies that were still fully functional, and they healed. Faster than you’d expect.
That’s not coincidence. There’s actually some really cool science behind it.
When your muscles contract, they release signaling proteins called myokines. Think of them as your body’s internal repair crew. They travel through your system, dial down inflammation, help accelerate the healing process and even boost and improve mood. Some scientists even call them “Hope Molecules”. The catch is that the only way to produce them is to MOVE. When you go still, that repair crew goes quiet. Keeping other parts of your body active, even when one part is injured, keeps those healing signals flowing.
You don’t have to work the injured part. You just have to keep contracting muscles somewhere. Legs, opposite arm, core, whatever is available to you. Movement is medicine, and it doesn’t have to come from the part of you that’s hurting.
This is exactly what our coaches are here for. If you’re dealing with something, tell us. We will find a way to keep you moving. We will protect what needs to be protected and work everything else. Your injury does not have to mean a pause in your progress.
Come in. Let us help you navigate it. The members who heal fastest are the ones who don’t disappear.
