There are some places in this world that simply can’t be experienced from a car window. You have to earn them.

Last month, our family explored three of Washington’s National Parks. We hiked through old-growth forests, climbed mountain passes, hiked to insane waterfalls, stood beside glacial blue lakes that looked almost unreal, and found ourselves speechless more than once. The pictures are beautiful. But they don’t even begin to capture what it felt like to stand there. There were moments when we rounded a corner and all four of us just stopped. No one said a word. We simply stood there, taking it in.

It reminded me of something I think we often forget.

Our bodies aren’t just meant to get us through the day….They’re meant to take us places.

They carry us to the top of mountains, through forests that have stood for centuries, across suspension bridges, into oceans, onto ski slopes, through airports, across foreign cities, and into adventures we haven’t even dreamed about yet. As I looked around these parks, I found myself feeling incredibly grateful. Not because we hiked the farthest or the fastest. But because our bodies allowed us to experience places that will stay with us forever.

I hope these photos inspire you as much as they inspired me.

Not simply to visit these places someday, but to keep building a body that’s ready when adventure calls. Because every workout, every yoga class, every strength session and every walk is about so much more than calories burned or muscles built. It’s about creating a life where your body says “YES.”

Yes to the hike.

Yes to the trip.

Yes to playing with your grandkids.

Yes to exploring a new country.

Yes to whatever adventure comes next.

So here’s the question I’d love for you to think about this week:

What experiences do you want your body to make possible over the next 10, 20, or even 30+ years?

We’ll talk more about that next week. Until then, enjoy a few of my favorite moments from an unforgettable adventure.
